Hey!
Just got home from work. Worked at the Sushi place tonight. Well this must have been the most interesting day for a while now. A lot happened. Let me start off with the morning.
My alarm clock goes off at 5:30 as usual. I get up at 6:15, know I'm late for training..leave my house after I brush my teeth and I'm outta' the house at 6:25am (training supposedly stated at 6:30) I race to the oval and make it in record time. 8 minutes. Get there and realize that no one is there. Only the Korean short track National team. Ok, so I call Stephan, a guy I skate with and have known for ever from short track. He's like 'Alex, didn't you read the program? It's an optional skate this morning!" SO I was thinking to myself, why isn't anyone wanting to skate!! Do they only come because they are told to? I would have come even if I KNEW that it was optional skate. Anywho, I was there and started warming up. I was ready to get on ice at 7:15...still no sign of long track life. So I decided to do something illegal and took my iPod skating with me.
We are usually not allowed to skate with music in our ears because we can not hear when people are behind us and we might have accidents.
I was skating, and I had some Nickelback going, then some Aerosmith. Wow it was amazing! I was only hearing Steven Tyler's lovely hot and amazing voice in my ears, and the pressure of my blades pushing into the ice with every stride I took. The sun was shining in through the oval windows and I could see my reflection in the ice as I crossed-over in the far right corner.
I found it funny that I was still looking behind me to check if anyone was coming, just as I'd get ready to do an accel and move into the middle lane from the outside lane. There was no one there!! I felt SO uncomfrtable standing up in the middle lane. as if i was gonna get run over. SO weird!!
I got off the ice, walked to my changing room, kissed a certain someone on the cheek to say hello. Got my stuff ready.
Afterwards I went to the Mall, grabbed a bite of custom made sushi and then went to the Mac store to cancel an appointment. Rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon.
Then I went home, did some tweetin' and got back to the oval just in time for my velotron testing. Thank god it was the last one of the year, because it is so hard! i LOVE the sweet pain of lactic acid in my legs, but I don't like wanting to cry haha! Then after I warmed up, I went and talked to one of the Korean national team coaches and I have a dinner date with him and his skater sometime next week! Should be fun. They both speak english so it will go well. Glad not to use sign language for once ;)
Ok, so I finished my velotron and as I'm supposed to be heading home to take my little big nap, my friends show up and we ended up going for a hamburger. yes, I do eat hamburgers once in a blue moon. Then worked from 3-now, and it went quite well, for being half asleep and not napping. After work, as I was cleaning up, 2 random guys (not at the same time) came up and gave me their phone numbers. I won't say what they said but it was quite amusing. Then I counted the money, closed the store and got a ride home. I still wonder how I got through all those hours at work today...
I just had one thing on my mind the whole time. (It got me through the day as you can see)
Not telling who/what.
;) Good night!

The start
Hi,
I've been debating whether to have a blog or not. I mean, I do have three others but you won't find them anywhere. They're private and not accessible.
So this is going to be my training/life blog. I'll keep it strictly to speed skating and some other things. Hope you enjoy it!
